Around Town

Some pictures to tide you over while we work on some more substantial posts. An assortment of shots taken around Thimphu.

And finally, the Memorial Choten!

Lam means road. Not surprisingly, this is a sign for the road on which the
Memorial Chorten is located.

Specialized sections at the Weekend Market. On the left are "incense and related
products". On the right are "doma and paney", betel nut and leaf, which have a
stimulant effect when chewed (and turn the mouth and saliva bright red - YUM).

Matt the tourist - checking out a map while we eat lunch.

Bhutan!

Liz helps me shop for a kira

In the kira shop, fabric behind me. Matt also got a gho but we have no photo
proof. You'll just have to take my word for it.

Looking down the street from one of our favorite restaurants. Typical street scene.

The ubiquitous dogs. You will seem them all over soaking up the warmth
of pretty much any surface - usually concrete but sometimes they like grass.

Sunset over the famous traffic circle.

Like I said, more posts coming soon. We've been busy and are catching up!
